Flying Fish Cove has emerged as a standout performer at the 2026 Labelmakers Group WA Alternative Varieties and Geographe Wine Show, securing the only gold medals in two highly competitive classes open to all Western Australian regions.

The prestigious show brings together leading industry professionals to evaluate wines side-by-side, enabling producers to benchmark quality, drive continuous improvement, and expand collective industry knowledge across alternative and regional varieties.

Flying Fish Cove entered three wines in the Alternative Varieties section, achieving exceptional results:

• Flying Fish Cove 2026 The Italian Job Fiano was awarded the sole gold medal in the Fiano class. Judges praised its “pretty floral aromatics, stone fruit, gentle elegant palate with great purity and finesse.”
• Flying Fish Cove 2024 The Italian Job Sangiovese claimed the only gold medal in the Red Italian Varietal class. Judges noted “dark fruits, layered tannin, chalky and juicy palate.”
• Flying Fish Cove 2025 Chenin Blanc Organic earned a silver medal in the Chenin Blanc class. Judges described “baked apple, honeysuckle and pith. Mealy lees complexity with juicy textural fruit.”
