Our Top Summer Sips

Our Top Summer Sips

Summer holidays, a time to reconnect with what matters most.

A morning surf, sunshine filled days, afternoon dips in the ocean and that feeling of salt on skin.

It's sharing a bountiful feast with delicious wine, good company and midsummer night's dance floors.

Here's where you'll find our crew this summer, their festive favourites and playlists made for the long, lazy days ahead.

Your top summer sips?

2021 Flying Fish Chardonnay. My favourite white variety and pairs well with local seafood.

Where we’ll find you over summer?

At the beach as much as possible trying to find a wave. Summer is usually a good time to seek out a secluded beach break. If there’s no waves I’ll have a swim at the lagoon.

I will be grabbing a coffee from Caves Park Store or Mark at coffee Pronto van, pizza at Swings.

If I am out for a nice meal I’ll go to lagoon restaurant in Y’all’s and have a glass of Flying Fish Sparkling Pinot Chardonnay with fresh seafood.

What's on your summer playlist?

Xavier Rudd, The Cruel Sea, Bob Marley, Wu-Tang Clan, Beastie Boys and the Specials.

Giuliana (Giuls)

Your top summer sips?

Flying Fish Rosé, it's fresh, wild and pure. Sunset drinks at Gnarabup, love the contrast of the pink rosé against the blue ocean.

The new Flying Fish Saison is also a favourite. I love beer!

Where we’ll find you over summer?

You'll find me hiking the Cape to Cape track, chasing waterfalls or anywhere outdoors. My favourite beaches are Injidup and Meelup. I usually do video calls with my family to show them the beautiful spots I visit.

I'm into crystals, energy and spirituality so you'll also find me at kundalini yoga classes in Margs.

I'm from Mendoza in Argentina so more into mountains than the sea but I want to give surfing a try! Blake who also works at Flying Fish, is a surf instructor at Yallingup Surf School so keen to get out there.

Favourite spots to eat and drink are the Margaret River Farmers Market, Pizzica and The River for live music. White Elephant Cafe in Gnarabup - love the vego burger there and the smoothies are the best! Sunday night treat is takeaway from Chang Thai Kitchen in Margs.

What's on your summer playlist?

Natiruts - my favourite band they are Brazilians and play music in Portuguese.

Your top summer sips?

Flying Fish Rosé. It's fruity, fresh and an easy drinking wine. Great for afternoon catch ups with my girlfriends at the beach.

Where we’ll find you over summer?

Walking the Meelup trails, browsing the local markets, cooking up local produce and afternoon swims at Old Dunsborough.

A casual lunch at Eagle Bay Brewery, picnics at Meelup, takeaway Indian from the Spice Odysee food truck, dinner at Blue Manna.

What's on your summer playlist?

Sarah Blasko, Lucy Spraggan, Abba, Elton John and the Red Hot Chilli Peppers.

Your top summer sips?

Sparkling Pinot Noir Chardonnay and the Sauvignon Blanc Semillon.

Where we’ll find you over summer?

You can find me enjoying all that the Cape region has to offer, surf, forest walking trails, mountain bike trails and in my garden.

I will also be traversing the Cape region operating as a taxi service for my teenage children.

I live locally in Cowaramup, just a stones throw from the winery. Great spots to eat and drink - Olio BelloBeer Farm and Yarri Restaurant.

What's on your summer playlist?

Anything from the 90s. The La’s, Groove Armada, Sneaker Pimps, Leftfield and Faith No More.

Your top summer sips?

You’ll find me having a Flying Fish Rosé at sunset by the park or beach with friends and the Flying Fish Sparkling at social events and special occasions.

I love these cold crisp wines on balmy evenings shared with close ones.

Where we’ll find you over summer?

This summer I’ll mostly be somewhere up the Cape swimming with my family or surfing early somewhere on the coast to try and find some quiet surf spots.

To wine and dine, Dunsborough town has some great places such as Yarri Restaurant and I love to spend time at the many breweries hidden around the region for some great food, drink and atmosphere.

What's on your summer playlist?

Flight Facilities, Benee, Joy, Neil Young and Lana Del Ray.
